Here are a few facts about me:
The Clumber Spaniel dog breed was originally created to find and retrieve birds. The breed is known as a dignified and mellow hunting dog for game. The Clumber Spaniel was created to be the hunting companion for kings and is skilled at flushing birds out of thick brush and staying close to the hunter.
The Clumber Spaniel took its name from Clumber Park, in Nottinghamshire, England. The Duke of Newcastle’s gamekeeper, William Mansell, is credited with their development and improvement.
The first Clumber Spaniel registered with the American Kennel Club was recorded in 1878. The Clumber Spaniel is one of the first ten breeds recognized by the American Kennel Club.
